第一則：首見 AI 自動網路攻擊台灣！遭阻擋還會自己換招
《金融時報》於 8 月 12 日報導，疑似與中國有關的駭客利用開源 AI 代理攻擊台灣政府系統。AI 不只會自行尋找漏洞，遭到阻擋後還能改變戰術、重新部署代理程式，像一支自主行動的駭客團隊。
4 天內，AI 最多部署 8 個代理程式，探測 21 個政府系統，至少入侵 85 個帳號、竊取逾 2,500 筆人員資料，目標擴大至核安機關與 7 家能源公司。研究者警告，各國政府恐怕得把「隨時可能遭網攻」作為資安防禦的基本前提。
First AI-Powered Automated Cyberattack on Taiwan! It Can Change Tactics When Blocked
The Financial Times reported on August 12 that suspected China-linked hackers used open-source AI agents to attack Taiwanese government systems. The AI could find security weaknesses on its own, change tactics when blocked, and deploy new agents, acting like an autonomous hacking team.
In four days, the AI deployed up to eight agents, probed 21 government systems, broke into at least 85 accounts, and stole more than 2,500 personnel records. The targets expanded to Taiwan’s nuclear safety agency and seven energy companies. Researchers warned that governments may need to treat the possibility of cyberattacks at any time as a basic assumption for cybersecurity defense.

U.S. Uncovers Over 1,000 Fake Marriages Helping Chinese Nationals Get Green Cards
The U.S. Department of Justice announced on August 12 that 11 people were accused of taking part in a large-scale marriage fraud scheme. They allegedly arranged more than 1,000 fake marriages between Chinese nationals and U.S. citizens to help Chinese nationals apply for U.S. green cards since 2016. The scheme lasted for 10 years.
The case involved millions of dollars and reached across several U.S. states and overseas locations. Applicants paid as much as US$100,000 for fake marriages and green cards. Some fake weddings even included wedding clothes, relatives, friends, and photos to create a convincing appearance and deceive immigration officers. This is also one of the largest marriage fraud prosecutions in U.S. history.

Europe Sees Its Most Spectacular Solar Eclipse in Nearly 30 Years as Parts of Spain Go Dark
Millions of people across Europe watched a rare solar eclipse on August 12. Parts of Spain experienced a total solar eclipse, and the sky went dark for nearly two minutes. Most parts of the UK saw a partial solar eclipse, with the moon covering about 90% of the sun. In Cornwall, the coverage reached as high as 95%.
Although solar eclipse glasses had already sold out, many people still used colanders, paper boxes, and sheets of paper to watch the eclipse safely. Reports say that 2026 to 2028 will be a “golden age of total solar eclipses,” with three total eclipses taking place around the world over these two years. The next one is expected on August 2, 2027.

台鐵便當去年營收達新台幣 8.76 億元，連續兩年突破 8 億元，再創歷史新高，平均每天賣出約 2 萬 5,800 個便當。為提升供應量，台鐵規劃在台北車站設立大型中央廚房，擴大便當產能。
台鐵近年除了經典排骨便當，也持續推出特色便當，吸引更多消費者。中央廚房啟用後，每日便當供應量可提升至約 2 萬 8,700 個，進一步帶動附屬事業營收成長。
Taiwan Railway Bento Sales Top NT$800 Million for Two Straight Years
Taiwan Railway bento sales reached NT$876 million last year, surpassing NT$800 million for two consecutive years and setting a new record. On average, about 25,800 bento boxes were sold every day. To increase supply, Taiwan Railway plans to build a large central kitchen at Taipei Main Station to expand its bento production capacity.
In recent years, Taiwan Railway has continued to introduce special bento meals in addition to its classic pork chop bento, attracting more customers. After the central kitchen begins operations, daily bento production is expected to increase to about 28,700 meals, further boosting revenue from the company’s ancillary business revenue.
