U.S.-Iran Ceasefire on the Brink! Trump Threatens to Wipe Out Iran’s Leadership

The United States and Iran reached a temporary ceasefire agreement on June 17, but it is now at risk of falling apart after both sides exchanged attacks. After a Singapore-flagged ship was attacked by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz on June 25, the U.S. launched retaliatory airstrikes on weapons depots and radar sites. Iran later attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, but two missiles were intercepted and no casualties were reported.

Both sides accused each other of violating the agreement. Trump warned that if Iran failed to honor the deal to end the war, its leadership would be destroyed. To prevent the deal from falling apart, the U.S. and Iran agreed to halt hostilities in the Persian Gulf and planned to meet in Qatar on June 30. The talks are expected to focus on the Strait of Hormuz dispute, including further ceasefire arrangements and practical details on shipping lane security.

Terror on Butterfly Valley Trail! Rockfall Hits Hiking Group From Above

A deadly rockfall occurred on the Butterfly Valley Waterfall Trail in Taichung on June 27. A 16-member senior hiking group was hit by falling boulders while walking along the trail, leaving four people dead and one injured. Prosecutors conducted postmortem examinations on June 28 to determine the causes of death.

The section of the trail where the accident happened had only reopened in April after being rerouted because of unstable ground. The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency said conditions at the time did not meet the threshold for closing the trail. Survivors said they entered the area because the weather was clear that morning. However, some hikers said days of rain may have loosened the soil, and questioned why the trip was not canceled even though a heavy rain advisory was still in effect.

AI Flood Control Failed? Neihu Hit by Severe Flooding After Heavy Rain

Heavy rain hit Taipei on the afternoon of June 28, with Neihu District recording 99 millimeters of rain in three hours. The downpour caused serious flooding in Jinlong Village, and muddy water entered some homes. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said the sudden heavy rain exceeded the city’s drainage design capacity. He said the city government would clear blocked drains immediately and had set up a single service window to help residents apply for disaster compensation.

Shen Pao-yang questioned the effectiveness of the city’s AI flood control system, saying that only a little over 2,000 people had subscribed to it. He argued that the system serves little purpose if most residents do not receive its alerts. The storm has also turned flood control measures and the city’s emergency response into major issues in the Taipei mayoral race.

Is Growth Always the Answer? Leaders Must Recognize and Adapt to Each Stage

According to Harvard Business Review, organizations go through different stages of development, and rapid growth is not always the right goal. Leaders who use the same management approach may find that their decisions no longer match the organization’s needs. Leaders should first identify the organization’s current stage and then adjust their leadership priorities to fit it.

The article says leaders should adapt their leadership style to different situations, balancing innovation with operational stability. By redefining success, signaling the need for change, adjusting operating systems, and making strategic trade-offs, they can help their organizations adapt to change, increase employee engagement, and achieve stronger long-term performance.

Are You a Chronically Late Person? It May Be Linked to Your Personality

Psychologists say that chronic lateness is not always the result of poor time management. It may also be influenced by personality traits. Some people repeatedly check every detail because they strive for perfection, while others rely on the pressure of deadlines to work more efficiently. Others simply underestimate how much time a task will take.

Lateness may also be linked to insecurity or a lack of interest in the task, serving as a way to protect oneself. To reduce chronic lateness, experts recommend breaking tasks into smaller steps and viewing them from an outside perspective to make more realistic time estimates and better plans.

Let’s wrap up today’s episode. We’ve learned about some important events happening around the world.

  • After renewed military clashes threatened their temporary ceasefire, the United States and Iran agreed to meet again to discuss the Strait of Hormuz dispute and future peace efforts.

  • Four people were killed in a rockfall on Taichung’s Butterfly Valley Waterfall Trail, raising concerns about trail safety after days of heavy rain.

  • Heavy rainfall flooded parts of Taipei, bringing the city’s AI flood control system and emergency response into the spotlight.

  • Rather than always pushing for faster growth, Harvard Business Review says leaders should change their approach as their organizations evolve.

  • Chronic lateness may not just be poor time management; it can also be linked to personality traits, time estimation, and hidden insecurity.

In the next episode, we will together explore the recent hot news with you in the morning. Don’t forget to come back. Have a nice day and hear me next time. Bye.
