第一則：致癌沙拉油殃及品項擴大！中聯遭重罰 1.65 億
中聯油脂致癌物超標事件持續擴大，食藥署於 7 月 7 日公布最新名單，目前鎖定至少 232 項疑慮產品，包括超商飯糰、沙拉醬、塔塔醬、蜂蜜芥末醬等食品。
衛福部也改採更嚴格的作法，要求相關產品先預防性下架，檢驗合格後才能重新販售。中聯因延遲通報與通報不實，被重罰 1 億 6,520 萬元，創下台灣食安史上最高裁罰紀錄。
Cancer-Causing Salad Oil Scandal Expands! Central Union Oil Corporation Fined NT$165 Million
The Central Union Oil Corporation carcinogen scandal continues to expand. Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration released an updated list on July 7, identifying at least 232 products that may be affected. These include convenience store rice balls, salad dressings, tartar sauce, honey mustard dressing, and other food items.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare has taken stricter action, requiring these products to be removed from shelves as a precaution. They can only return to the market after passing safety tests. Central Union Oil was fined NT$165.2 million for delayed and inaccurate reporting, setting a record for the highest food safety fine in Taiwan’s history.

台北地檢署於 7月 6 日搜索長榮海運等企業，並約談張國華與張國政等 9 人。檢方調查指出，張國華等人在重大訊息公開前，涉嫌買進大量長榮海運股票，估計不法獲利超過 150 億元。
張國華涉嫌違反《證券交易法》，以 1.2 億元交保，並遭科技監控與限制出境，張國政則以 1,000 萬元交保。儘管張國華全盤否認指控，但此醜聞衝擊航運股，長榮海運於 7 月 7 日股價開盤走跌逾 4%，失守 190 元大關。
Evergreen Marine Insider Trading Scandal! Chang Kuo-hua and Others Searched
The Taipei District Prosecutors Office searched Evergreen Marine and related companies on July 6, and questioned nine people, including Chang Kuo-hua and Chang Kuo-cheng. Prosecutors said Chang Kuo-hua and others allegedly bought large amounts of Evergreen Marine shares before major information was disclosed, with estimated illegal gains of more than NT$15 billion.
Chang Kuo-hua is suspected of violating the Securities and Exchange Act. He was released on NT$120 million bail, placed under electronic monitoring, and banned from leaving Taiwan. Chang Kuo-cheng was released on NT$10 million bail. Although Chang Kuo-hua denied all accusations, the scandal hit shipping stocks. Evergreen Marine’s share price fell more than 4% at the opening on July 7, dropping below the NT$190 mark.

U.S. Strikes Iran Again After Commercial Vessels Attack, Global Oil Prices Surge
The U.S. military launched a new round of airstrikes on Iran on July 7, in response to Iran’s recent attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command said Iran had clearly violated the ceasefire agreement, and that the U.S. military had to make Iran pay for endangering the safety of international shipping lanes.
The U.S. Treasury Department also announced that it had revoked a previous general license allowing Iran to sell crude oil. Only already authorized transactions can continue until July 17. Markets are worried about shipping safety in the Strait of Hormuz, causing international oil prices to rise.

Formosa Petrochemical Corporation Diversifies Oil Sources as Middle East Supply Risks Rise
The chairman of Formosa Petrochemical Corporation said that the conflict between the United States and Iran and the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz have increased pressure on global energy supplies. The company has reduced its dependence on Middle Eastern crude oil and is seeking alternative oil sources from the United States, Africa, and Brazil to lower the risk of supply disruptions.
Facing a weak petrochemical market and intensifying global competition, Formosa Petrochemical is also adjusting its product mix, reducing operating rates, and accelerating investments in sustainable aviation fuel and low-carbon transformation. Industry analysts said that as energy supply chains are being reshaped and carbon fees become more common, diversified sourcing and green transformation have become key strategies for maintaining competitiveness in the petrochemical industry.
