New Food Delivery Act Approaches! Delivery Workers May Have to Pay Platform Fees

Taiwan’s food delivery act will take effect on July 21. The Digital Economy Association Taiwan said the new rules may affect platform costs, delivery efficiency, and market prices. Scholars also warned that if the act raises compliance costs, the division of labor and financial burden among platforms, merchants, consumers, and delivery workers may need to be discussed again.

Among these issues, the idea of a “platform fee” has drawn attention. Experts pointed out that if delivery workers are viewed as platform users rather than employees, whether they should help share the platform’s operating costs in the future still needs to be observed after the new act takes effect.

TSMC Earnings Call Begins! Eyes 70% Quarterly Gross Margin

TSMC will hold its earnings call on July 16. Benefiting from strong AI chip demand, its cumulative revenue in the first half of 2026 has already exceeded NT$2.4 trillion, and the market expects its quarterly gross margin to challenge a new high of 70%.

Key focuses of this earnings call include TSMC’s full-year revenue target, whether capital expenditure will be raised, whether gross margins can stay high, and the progress of 2-nanometer mass production.

Did Trump Give the Green Light? Nvidia H200 Chips Have Shipped to China

A U.S. official said NVIDIA’s H200 chips have begun shipping to China or Hong Kong, but only in very small quantities. The U.S. had previously approved about 10 Chinese companies to purchase H200 chips, including Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, and JD.com.

Now, Washington has approved three more Chinese companies to purchase AI chips from NVIDIA or AMD, including ZTE Kangxun Telecom, Maginfra, and Zhuhai Hengqin Yunxiang Zhisheng Network Technology. This shows that Chinese companies approved to buy advanced chips are no longer limited to major corporations, keeping H200 chips at the center of U.S.-China technology rivalry.

The Procter & Gamble Company’s Cross-Boundary Approach Helps Global Teams Work Better

Management experts say that global consumer goods company P&G uses a shared working framework called “boundary objects.” This framework creates a common language and helps employees from different departments and countries communicate effectively and develop strategies together.

P&G also uses the OGSM strategy tool to connect objectives, strategies, and result reviews. The tool helps teams focus on “where to compete” and “how to win.” Building a shared framework, maintaining regular communication, and reviewing progress are important for improving cross-department cooperation. These practices can also support innovation and growth across the organization.

The Harder You Try to Stay Positive, the Worse You Feel? Watch Out for the Self-Blame Trap

Many people turn to positive thinking books for comfort when they are feeling low. However, if these books tell readers that they should not have negative thoughts, the message may backfire. The more people try to suppress their thoughts, the stronger those thoughts may become, leaving them even more discouraged or prone to self-blame when doubts arise.

Experts say even successful people have worries, and fear of failure is a normal reaction. Having these thoughts does not mean a person is destined to fail. True positive thinking means recognizing and accepting negative thoughts, allowing oneself to worry, and continuing to take action until the anxiety gradually fades.

Let’s wrap up today’s episode. We’ve learned about some important events happening around the world.

  • The new food delivery act in Taiwan may raise platform costs and could shift financial burdens, potentially leading delivery workers to share in platform operating costs.

  • TSMC’s earnings call is drawing global attention with investors highly anticipating a capital expenditure raise and gross margins challenging 70%.

  • The U.S. has confirmed the shipment of NVIDIA’s H200 chips to China in small quantities while approving advanced AI chip purchases for three more Chinese firms.

  • P&G improves global teamwork by using shared frameworks, clear communication, and regular reviews to align strategies, strengthen cooperation, and support innovation and growth.

  • Positive thinking can become harmful when people suppress doubt, as experts say worries are normal and may ease through steady action.

In the next episode, we will together explore the recent hot news with you in the morning. Don’t forget to come back. Have a nice day and hear me next time. Bye.
