第一則：勞動部審議最低月薪 明年可望突破三萬元大關
勞動部最快將於 9 月召開最低工資審議會，討論 2027 年最低工資。若調升 5%，最低月薪將增加至 30,975 元，最低時薪則上升至 206 元，最低工資可望連續 11 年上漲。
主計總處上調 2026 年經濟成長率，消費者物價指數也較前一年上升。勞工團體考量產業發展不均與貧富差距，主張將最低工資調升 5.7%。不過，經濟成長率並非最低工資的主要參考數據，最終調幅仍待審議會決定。
Minimum Monthly Wage May Top NT$30,000 Next Year as Labor Ministry Begins Review
The Ministry of Labor may hold a minimum wage review committee as early as September to discuss the minimum wage for 2027. If it rises by 5%, the minimum monthly wage will increase to NT$30,975. The minimum hourly wage will also rise to NT$206, marking the 11th straight annual increase.
The government revised its 2026 economic growth forecast upward, while the Consumer Price Index also rose from a year earlier. Labor groups are calling for a 5.7% increase because of uneven industrial growth and the widening wealth gap. However, economic growth is not the main factor in setting the minimum wage. The review committee will make the final decision.

光州雙年展將台灣館更名為國立台灣美術館英文縮寫，並從官方海報的參與國名單中移除台灣，10 名台灣藝術家與策展人於 8 月 15 日發表聯合聲明，譴責主辦單位進行政治審查。
文化部表示，雙方從展覽提案到前期籌備都使用台灣館名稱，已請駐外單位及國美館向主辦單位嚴正抗議，但主辦單位尚未公開回應。藝術家警告，更名爭議可能損害光州雙年展於國際藝術界的信譽。
Taiwanese Artists Condemn Gwangju Biennale for Renaming Taiwan Pavilion
The Gwangju Biennale renamed the “Taiwan Pavilion” as “NTMOFA,” the English abbreviation for the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. It also removed Taiwan from the list of participating countries on its official poster. Ten Taiwanese artists and curators issued a joint statement on August 15, accusing the organizers of political censorship.
The Ministry of Culture said both sides had used the name “Taiwan Pavilion” from the proposal stage through early preparations. It has asked its overseas offices and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts to strongly protest to the organizers, but the organizers have not publicly responded. The artists warned that the dispute could damage the Gwangju Biennale’s reputation in the international art world.

U.S. Army Mentions First Island Chain as Trump Orders U.S.–South Korea Drill Scaled Back
The 11-day Ulchi Freedom Shield joint military exercise between the United States and South Korea began on August 17. The U.S. Eighth Army said the exercise will improve combat readiness, and also mentioned the “First Island Chain” for the first time in its introduction to the exercise, stressing that the two allies could quickly project military power within the island chain.
However, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to sharply scale back the military exercises before they began. He said the exercises were too costly and could send a hostile message to North Korea, while pointing to his good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Trump also criticized South Korea for refusing to join U.S. action against Iran, citing that as another reason for scaling back the exercises.

台積電董事長魏哲家表示，人工智慧可協助處理大量例行判斷，但複雜問題仍需要人類經驗。他認為，人工智慧的真正價值，不是追求話題，而是解決醫療與生活中的實際問題。

C.C. Wei on Robots, Their Real Value Is in Caregiving
TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei said artificial intelligence can help handle many routine decisions, but complex problems still require human experience. He believes the true value of artificial intelligence is not to attract attention, but to solve real problems in healthcare and daily life.
Wei also said an aged society needs robots that can support caregiving, rather than products that can only perform for entertainment. Robots must have accurate sensors, stable operation, and safe control systems. Therefore, the reliability of their chips will become a key factor in industry competition.

台灣去年經濟成長率達 8.68%，台股表現亮眼，但消費者仍縮減非必要開支。東方線上執行長蔡鴻賢指出，民眾正從追求 CP 值，轉向重視 CT 值。
