輝達於 8 月 26 日公布第 2 季財報，營收達 962 億美元，年增 106%，並預估明年營收成長 70%，遠高於市場原先預期的 45%，也帶動盤後股價由黑翻紅。
黃仁勳表示目前供應能力大約只能支撐 70% 成長，但實際需求遠高於這個數字。從晶片、封裝到 AI 伺服器都在全力擴產，台積電、鴻海、廣達與緯創等台灣供應鏈也因此受到市場關注。
NVIDIA Beats Expectations! AI Demand Pushes Supply Chains to Full Capacity
NVIDIA released its second-quarter earnings on August 26, reporting revenue of US$96.2 billion, up 106% from a year earlier. The company also expects revenue to grow 70% in 2027, far above the market’s earlier forecast of 45%. The strong outlook also helped NVIDIA’s stock turn positive in after-hours trading.
Jensen Huang said NVIDIA currently has enough supply capacity to support about 70% growth, but actual demand is much higher than that. From chips and advanced packaging to AI servers, suppliers are expanding production as fast as possible. Taiwanese companies such as TSMC, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, QUANTA COMPUTER INC, and Wistron Corporation are therefore also drawing strong market attention.
第二則：台大急診再爆候床 35 天！衛福部要查排床制度
台大醫院日前才有 85 歲患者候床 12 天後病逝，上週又有病患在急診暫留區待了 35 天，護理師抽血時才發現，系統顯示病患已滯留急診超過 1 個月，因此主動通報院內異常事件。院方表示目前每天急診量已超過 300 人，排床壓力也隨之增加。
衛福部指出，問題不只是病床不夠，也包括病房由各科自行排床、部分患者不願轉院，以及跨科收治複雜病人的調度困難。台大已加強追蹤候床超過 72 小時的病人、增設急診後送病房，並研議與其他醫院合作轉診。
National Taiwan University Hospital Patient Waits 35 Days for a Bed! Ministry of Health and Welfare to Review Bed Assignment System
National Taiwan University Hospital recently faced criticism after an 85-year-old patient died following a 12-day wait for a hospital bed. Last week, another patient stayed in the emergency observation area for 35 days. While drawing blood, a nurse discovered that the hospital system showed the patient had remained in the emergency department for more than a month, so the case was reported as an unusual incident. The hospital says it now treats more than 300 emergency patients a day, increasing pressure on bed assignments.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare said the problem involves more than a lack of beds. It may also be linked to each department managing its own bed assignments, some patients being unwilling to transfer, and difficulties in placing complex cases across different departments. National Taiwan University Hospital has strengthened monitoring of patients waiting over 72 hours, added emergency transfer wards, and is discussing referral to other hospitals.

Meta Pays US$18 Billion to Settle Youth Addiction Lawsuit! Major Changes Coming for Teen Users
Meta reached a settlement with 29 U.S. states on August 26 over claims that Facebook and Instagram were intentionally designed to be addictive, misled users about platform safety, and illegally collected data from children under 13. The settlement could cost Meta up to US$18 billion.
The key point of this settlement is not only the amount of money Meta has to pay. Meta must also directly change how teenagers can use its platforms. For the next 10 years, users under 18 will be limited to two hours a day, with additional restrictions at night and during school hours. Meta will only have to pay the remaining 30% of the settlement if TikTok and YouTube also set a one-hour daily limit for underage users.

Competition in Taiwan’s furniture market has become increasingly intense in recent years. However, local furniture brand MR. LIVING has continued to grow despite the challenging market. Several of its new products reached sales of more than NT$10 million within two months of launch. The company said its success comes from understanding the changing needs of Gen Z rather than competing on price.
Gen Z consumers care about attractive design, but they also value practical functions. They also prefer to buy furniture one piece at a time instead of purchasing a complete set. By focusing on local consumer needs and product innovation, brands can create furniture that better fits modern lifestyles and strengthen their market competitiveness.
第五則：想聽清楚別閉眼睛！吵雜的場合要靠視覺幫忙
人在吵雜環境中想聽清楚聲音時，常會下意識閉上眼睛，以為這樣能更專心。不過，上海交通大學研究團隊發現，在背景雜音很強的情況下，閉眼反而會讓聽覺表現變差。
研究指出，閉上眼睛會讓大腦更專注於內在狀態，並過度過濾外界訊號，最後不只噪音被濾掉，目標聲音也可能一起被削弱。若是看著與聲音同步的畫面，能幫助大腦定位聲音來源，讓人在吵雜環境中聽得更清楚。
Don’t Close Your Eyes When Trying to Hear Clearly! Vision Can Help In Noisy Places
When people try to hear clearly in a noisy environment, they often close their eyes unconsciously to focus better. However, a research team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University pointed out that closing your eyes actually reduces hearing performance when background noise is strong.
The study showed that closing your eyes causes the brain to focus on inner states and over-filter outside signals, which accidentally weakens the target sound. On the other hand, watching visuals matched with the sound helps the brain locate the audio source, allowing people to hear more clearly in noisy settings.
