第一則:淡水藥師涉嫌下藥女大生 調查再發現 4 名受害者
新北市淡水一名藥師涉嫌在女工讀生的水杯中下藥,警方從備份影像發現投藥畫面,男子也坦承下藥,檢方認為男子涉嫌加重強制性交未遂等罪,法院已裁定羈押禁見。
檢警擴大調查後發現,另有一名前女員工指控遭男子性侵,還有三名前女員工指控遭性騷擾,警方已聯繫四人製作筆錄,並持續清查是否還有其他受害者。
Tamsui Pharmacist Accused of Drugging Female Student, Investigation Reveals Four More Victims
A pharmacist in Tamsui, New Taipei City, is accused of putting drugs into a female part-time worker’s water. Police found video footage showing him putting the drugs into her cup, and the man admitted doing so. Prosecutors believe he may have committed Attempted Aggravated Forcible Rape and other crimes, and the court has ordered him detained and held incommunicado.
As the investigation expanded, prosecutors found that another former female employee accused the man of sexual assault, while three others accused him of sexual harassment. Police have contacted the four women for questioning and are continuing to investigate whether there are more victims.

Recent posts on social media claimed that Google Taiwan was planning major layoffs, with some reports saying that certain teams could cut 30% to 50% of their staff. Google denied the claims, saying the figures were completely inaccurate and explained that the staff changes are routine adjustments based on business needs, rather than sudden large-scale layoffs, while affected employees can apply for other positions within the company.
However, Google’s offices in Taiwan are still hiring for positions in artificial intelligence, cloud services, hardware, and chip development. Google also recently announced plans to expand its AI infrastructure research and development center in Taipei by 60%, as the company continues to expand its presence in Taiwan.

加拿大於 9 月 8 日對約 700 項美國商品加徵 15% 至 50% 的報復性關稅,涉及約新台幣 6 千多億元的進口商品,以回應美國先前對加拿大商品部分課徵 50% 關稅。加拿大總理表示,政府目前不急著重啟貿易談判,目標是讓對美國以外市場的出口增加一倍,降低對美國市場的依賴。
美國總統川普則持續加大施壓,除了威脅對加拿大汽車及零組件課徵 50% 關稅,也揚言禁止加拿大飛機製造商龐巴迪在美國銷售飛機,讓美加貿易衝突進一步升溫。
U.S.-Canada Trade War Escalates, Canada Imposes Retaliatory Tariffs of Up to 50%
Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs of 15% to 50% on about 700 U.S. products on September 8, covering more than NT$600 billion worth of imports, in response to the United States’ earlier 50% tariffs on some Canadian goods. Canada’s prime minister said the government is in no hurry to restart trade talks and aims to double exports to markets outside the United States, reducing its dependence on the U.S. market.
U.S. President Donald Trump has continued to increase pressure on Canada. He has threatened to impose 50% tariffs on Canadian cars and auto parts and also warned that Canadian aircraft maker Bombardier could be banned from selling planes in the United States, further escalating trade tensions between the two countries.

Gen Z is becoming a major force in global consumer spending, and research estimates that their spending power will reach US$12 trillion by 2030. Facing rising prices and economic pressure, Gen Z cares more about value when spending money, and more than 40% are willing to buy lower-priced alternatives with similar functions.
Research also shows that Gen Z is more willing to spend on immediate experiences such as travel, concerts, and sporting events. Social media reviews and peer interactions are also gradually replacing traditional advertising. For brands, proving product value and building a good reputation on social media will be key to attracting Gen Z consumers.
