Military Drones Suspected of Using Chinese Parts, Two Jiin Ming Industry Executives Detained
Taiwanese company Jiin Ming Industry is suspected of using Chinese-made chips and camera lenses in military drones and submitting false documents about where the parts were made for military inspection. The Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office requested the detention of two company executives on suspicion of violating the National Security Law and other laws. Both have been detained incommunicado, raising concerns about the security of military drones.
Experts warn that if Chinese-made communication and navigation chips contain hidden features that allow unauthorized access, military data could be leaked. However, replacing Chinese-made parts could also greatly increase research and development costs.
Female Lieutenant from 206th Infantry Brigade Falls from Building Amid Bullying Allegations? Military Sends Evidence for Investigation
A female lieutenant surnamed Wang from the Army’s 206th Infantry Brigade recently fell from a building. Fellow soldiers later provided an audio recording, raising concerns that she may have been verbally bullied by a colleague before the incident. The 6th Army Command said it had obtained the relevant conversations and sent the evidence to judicial authorities for investigation on October 12.
The 6th Army Command said the two people involved were not in a superior-subordinate relationship. However, the military will still investigate whether any improper or illegal behavior occurred. If the investigation confirms any wrongdoing, those responsible will be held accountable under the law, with no cover-ups tolerated.
U.S. Launches Section 337 Investigation Into 20 Companies, Including Delta Electronics and Foxconn
The United States International Trade Commission announced on October 9 that it had launched a Section 337 investigation into 20 companies from Taiwan, the United States, China, and other countries, including Delta Electronics, Quanta Computer, and Foxconn. The investigation follows allegations by U.S. power technology company Vicor Corporation that these companies’ AI server power supply technologies may infringe on its patents.
Section 337 investigations mainly deal with intellectual property disputes. If patent infringement is confirmed, the products involved could be banned from entering or being sold in the U.S. market. Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs said it will continue to monitor the case, while the three Taiwanese companies stated that their related products and business operations have not been affected so far.
Why Allbirds Fell from Grace? Three Decisions That Hurt the Brand
Allbirds once became a Silicon Valley favorite for its comfort, simple design, and eco-friendly image. Its valuation topped US$4 billion in 2021, but it is now being sold for just US$39 million. However, after going public, Allbirds expanded stores and product lines too quickly, which raised costs and gradually weakened its once-clear brand identity.
Allbirds has long relied on its website and its own stores, limiting its ability to reach new customers. As other brands began focusing on sustainability, Allbirds’ products gradually lost their competitive edge, ultimately leading to a decline in both the brand’s appeal and its business performance.
High-End Travelers Shift Their Spending! Travel Becomes the New Luxury

Experts point out that today’s travelers are not only looking for luxury hotels or popular attractions. They also prefer lesser-known destinations and secluded retreats. Younger generations are also seeking unique experiences that others may not have had. In addition, 70% of Gen Z travelers in Asia now place sustainability as their top priority, making it a new trend in travel.
