第一則：黃逸豪遭假車禍攻擊 檢方查出疑涉中共指使
相聲演員黃逸豪於 9 月演出前遭車輛撞傷。經新北地檢署調查，一名中國人士疑似因不滿他批評中共，以 45 萬元找人跟監並策劃假車禍，原本企圖讓他重傷、無法登台演出。
涉案人士先裝 GPS 掌握黃逸豪行蹤，再開車衝撞，所幸最後僅造成黃逸豪骨盆挫傷。檢方認為案件涉及跨境鎮壓，於 10 月 21 日依重傷害未遂等罪起訴 5 人，並建請法院從重量刑。
Huang Yi-hao Injured in Staged Car Crash, Prosecutors Suspect Chinese Involvement
Crosstalk performer Huang Yi-hao was hit by a car before a performance in September. New Taipei prosecutors found that a person in China, allegedly unhappy with Huang’s criticism of the Chinese government, offered NT$450,000 to have people follow him and stage a car crash. The plan was intended to seriously injure Huang and prevent him from performing.
The suspects first placed a GPS tracker on Huang’s vehicle to track his movements before hitting him with a car. Fortunately, Huang Yi-hao suffered only a bruised pelvis. Prosecutors believe the case involved transnational repression. On October 21, they charged five people with attempted serious injury and other offenses and asked the court to give them heavy sentences.

Grab’s foodpanda Acquisition Rejected, Taiwan Regulator Raises Competition Concerns
Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission rejected Grab’s acquisition of foodpanda on October 21, saying the deal could reduce competition in Taiwan’s food delivery market. The market is currently dominated by Uber Eats and foodpanda, while Grab had planned to take over foodpanda and enter the Taiwan market through the deal.
However, Uber owns about 13.1% shares of Grab, and the two companies have also worked together in the past. The Fair Trade Commission was concerned that the two companies would have less incentive to compete after the acquisition. Even though Grab proposed measures such as reducing Uber’s stake, they were not enough to address these concerns.

Jensen Huang Puts AI Data Centers in Containers, Sees Physical AI as the Next Big Opportunity
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang introduced the DSX POD, a container-based AI data center, at the GTC conference in Berlin on October 21. It first integrates the computing, networking, and cooling equipment at a factory. The system is then transported to the site as a container-based module, reducing on-site installation time and speeding up the construction of AI infrastructure.
Jensen Huang believes the next wave of AI will be “physical AI,” which can understand the real world and take action, with applications in robots, self-driving vehicles, and industrial manufacturing . He also believes that the “ChatGPT moment” for robotics is coming soon and that the technology could see major breakthroughs.

A study of 18,000 employees found that high earners tend to plan their work the day before, setting clear goals, deadlines, and priorities. This allows them to start working right away the next day and handle important tasks in the morning, when there are fewer distractions.
As their attention drops in the afternoon, they switch to administrative tasks to avoid forcing themselves to handle tasks that require intense focus. Planning both tasks and timing in advance helps reduce last-minute preparation and distractions, allowing them to finish earlier instead of relying on overtime.

英國政府於去年 11 月宣布擴大實施含糖飲料稅，將課稅門檻從每 100 毫升含糖 5 克降至 4.5 克，並首度納入含糖乳製飲品與奶製品替代品。官方預估，新制上路後，全英國每天可減少約 1,700 萬卡路里攝取。

Sugary Dairy Drinks to Be Taxed! UK Expands Sugar Tax to Protect Public Health
The UK government announced last year in November that it would expand its sugar tax on sugary drinks. The tax threshold will be lowered from 5 grams of sugar per 100 milliliters to 4.5 grams, and sugary dairy drinks and dairy alternatives will be included for the first time. Officials estimate that after the new rules take effect, total daily calorie intake across the UK could fall by about 17 million calories.
Data shows that since the sugar tax was introduced, the average sugar content of packaged drinks on the market has dropped by nearly half. Taiwan is not currently considering a sugar tax, mainly because hand-shaken drinks are highly customizable, making it difficult to calculate sugar content and drink size under a unified standard.
