第一則:家樂福退出台灣 萬家福與樂家康接棒

統一集團於 6 月 30 日完成品牌切換,法國家樂福品牌正式退出台灣市場。原家樂福量販店全面更名為「萬家福」,超市則改名為「樂家康」,全台共約 295 家門市同步換上新品牌。

統一表示,「萬家福」將主打大型量販市場,「樂家康」則聚焦社區超市需求。此次品牌更名不影響既有門市布局,而是希望透過全新品牌,持續深耕台灣零售市場,並整合旗下量販與超市通路資源。

Carrefour Exits Taiwan, Prosperity Plaza and Uni-Prosperity Take Over

The Uni-President Group completed its brand transition on June 30, marking the official exit of the Carrefour brand from Taiwan. Carrefour hypermarkets have been renamed Prosperity Plaza, while Carrefour supermarkets are now called Uni-Prosperity. About 295 stores across Taiwan have switched to the new brands.

The Uni-President Group said that Prosperity Plaza will focus on the hypermarket business, while Uni-Prosperity will target demand for neighborhood supermarkets. The rebranding will not affect the existing store network. Instead, the company hopes to strengthen its presence in Taiwan’s retail market and further integrate its hypermarket and supermarket businesses.

Bill Gates recently said that as artificial intelligence continues to develop rapidly, many jobs could be affected by automation in the future. He believes that programmers, biologists, energy workers, and professional athletes are the four types of jobs that are less likely to be replaced by AI.

Bill Gates said that even if AI technology keeps improving, people will still want to watch real athletes compete instead of machines competing against each other. He also warned that jobs in manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture may gradually be taken over by AI or automated systems in the future.

環境部於 6 月 29 日首度以北北桃連續三天出現攝氏 40 度高溫為情境,進行跨部會兵棋推演,模擬高溫可能造成的停電、熱傷害、大眾運輸異常及戶外工作風險,演練中央與地方政府的應變機制。

環境部表示,這次共有 34 個單位參與演練,成果將作為未來制定高溫專章的重要參考,並進一步強化中央與地方合作,提升面對極端高溫的防災與應變能力。

Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment Simulates 40°C Heat Wave to Strengthen Heat Response

Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment held its first tabletop exercise on June 29, using a scenario in which Taipei, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan experience temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days. The exercise simulated possible impacts such as power outages, heat-related illnesses, public transportation disruptions, and risks to outdoor workers, while testing the emergency response of both the central and local governments.

The Ministry of Environment said that 34 government agencies took part in the exercise. The results will serve as an important reference for developing a dedicated heat response framework and further strengthening cooperation between the central and local governments to improve disaster prevention and emergency response to extreme heat.

Saizeriya Grows Against the Trend as Low-Price Strategy Boosts Revenue

Japanese family restaurant chain Saizeriya announced its operating results for last year. The company reported consolidated revenue of 256.7 billion yen, a yearly increase of about 14%. Saizeriya said it improved operating efficiency through its low-price strategy and digital transformation, allowing the company to continue growing despite rising restaurant costs.

Saizeriya also said it is continuing to expand in overseas markets. The company currently has many branches in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.
