Lai Ching-te’s Transit Through the U.S. Denied, Foreign Media Suggests Possible Chinese Pressure
《路透社》報導，賴清德原本計劃於今年8月訪問中南美洲，途中在美國停留，在紐約拜會智庫傳統基金會，並前往達拉斯進行訪問。
According to Reuters, Lai Ching-te had planned to visit Central and South America in August this year, with a stopover in the U.S. He was scheduled to meet with a think tank, the Heritage Foundation, in New York and then visit Dallas.
但川普政府因正值美中進行敏感貿易談判之際，應中國的抗議，拒絕賴清德總統過境紐約的申請。
However, because the U.S. and China were having sensitive trade talks at the time, the Trump administration turned down his request to stop in New York after protests from China.
對此，總統府回覆，考量南部颱風災後復原、美台關稅互惠等情勢，賴清德暫時無出訪規劃。
In response, the Presidential Office said that due to typhoon recovery in southern Taiwan and talks on U.S.-Taiwan tariff issues, Lai currently has no travel plans.
若有確定的出訪行程，將適時對外說明。

民眾黨立委黃國昌於7月28日就國防部採購軍服議題質詢，指控此採購案存有疑慮，決標金額高達87億元，遠超過編列的61億元預算。
On July 28, Taiwan People’s Party legislator Huang Kuo-chang raised questions about the Ministry of National Defense’s plan to buy military uniforms. He said the deal seemed suspicious, with the final contract amount reaching NT$8.7 billion, which is much higher than the original budget of NT$6.1 billion.
他質疑得標廠商全聯的業務範疇，詢問「全聯有在做衣服嗎？」
Huang also questioned whether PX Mart, the winning company, was qualified for the job by asking, “Does PX Mart even make clothes?”
國防部部長顧立雄則表示將在三天內書面回覆相關問題。
In response, Minister of National Defense Koo Li-hsiung said the ministry would give a written reply within three days.
黃國昌強調，這一採購案的透明性與預算審查至關重要，並要求國防部釐清資金來源。
Huang emphasized the importance of transparency and budgetary oversight in this contract award, urging the ministry to clarify the funding source.
