At The Atlantic Council, Taiwan’s Deputy Representative to the United States Johnson Chiang said that Taiwan’s diplomatic allies help stabilize the Taiwan Strait and are strategically important to both Taiwan and the United States.
U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi stressed that the United States must support Taiwan in diplomacy and security to maintain the regional status quo. Scholars at the meeting also noted that countries such as Saint Lucia and Honduras are reconsidering their diplomatic choices because China did not fulfill its promises.

According to the latest estimate from Forbes, Musk has become the first person in history with a net worth of more than 600 billion dollars. The public expects that SpaceX may go public next year, and the new valuation will greatly boost his wealth.
A report from Reuters said that Musk holds about 42 percent of SpaceX shares, and his net worth may rise to about 677 billion dollars under the new valuation. In addition, the rise of Tesla’s stock this year and the possibility that xAI may raise funds at a 230 billion-dollar valuation also continue to increase his fortune.

According to data released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the tariff revenue for the year has passed 200 billion dollars after the Trump administration implemented several new tariffs. These measures, carried out through more than forty executive orders, have become the main focus of review by the Supreme Court.
This year, Trump also introduced so-called “Reciprocal Tariffs” without approval from parliament and added “Fentanyl Tariffs” on products from Canada, China, and Mexico. However, U.S. tariff revenue slightly dropped in November to 30.75 billion dollars.

Taiwanese restaurant groups are facing weaker consumer spending and rising costs in the Chinese market, and they have begun retreating and downsizing. 85°C Bakery Café will reduce its stores in China from 460 to fewer than 270 this year, and its total number of closures will exceed forty percent.
Jhujian announced a full exit from the Hong Kong market, and its three brands will close by the end of this month. Kanpai also closed its last store in Beijing and will merge its subsidiaries. The three major groups are adjusting their layouts at the same time, and the companies are turning to their core markets to seek new growth momentum.
