台中市豐原區一處大型蛋雞場在1月28日確認感染高病原性禽流感病毒。市府指出,檢驗結果出爐前已有大量雞隻異常死亡,業者未即時通報且涉嫌私自掩埋死雞。

台中市政府已展開移動管制與周邊消毒作業,全面撲殺場內雞隻並追蹤雞蛋流向,涉隱匿疫情業者將依法處以5萬元至100萬元罰鍰,並不會發放任何補償金。

Avian Flu Outbreak at Taichung Egg Farm, Operator Fined for Illegally Burying Dead Chickens

A large egg-laying chicken farm in Fengyuan District, Taichung City, was confirmed to be infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza on January 28. The Taichung City Government said that many chickens had died abnormally before test results were released, and the farm operator failed to report the situation and was suspected of secretly burying dead chickens.

The city government has launched movement controls and disinfection work in nearby areas, culled all chickens on the farm, and traced the flow of eggs. The operator involved in hiding the outbreak will be fined between NT$50,000 and NT$1 million by law and will not receive compensation for the culling.
